The Interview is Done–Will the Phone Ring?

When the phone doesn’t ring within 24 hours of an interview, many job candidates start to assume they didn’t get the job.  The waiting game is worse than the interview itself for some.

Read what to do and NOT do during this stage in process in my latest Job-Hunt.org article:  Post-Interview Waiting Game.

  1. Excellent do’s and don’t Jeff. My own current employment is a prime example of this. All interviews for my position were conducted the same day. Then one of the VP’s went on vacation to Disney the next day! I didn’t hear for 3 weeks… The organization had downsized and to get the CEO, Exec. VP and Sr. VP to the table apparently was a difficult task despite the fact the position was way over do to be filled.

Moral of the story is that you can never “guess” what is going on. If you are a candidate of choice they aren’t going to “forget” about you.

  2. There can be all kinds of reasons for why you don’t hear back right away, particularly in these economically uncertain times.
